CassandraSLAVEN - Spring 2020

My name is Cassandra (Cassy) Slaven. I have worked in the IT field for 20+ years in many roles--programmer, analyst, project manager, etc.--on ERP systems, specifically SAP for the past 15 years. I am a Senior IT Analyst at Duke University (go Blue Devils). I've been in this position for over eight years. It is my department's responsibility to maintain all financial and HR systems for the university and the health system. No pressure there!
 

I have a BS degree in Communications from Chestnut Hill College in Philadelphia, PA, and will soon have my master's degree, a Master's in Applied Arts and Sciences (MAAS) from The University of North Carolina - Greensboro.​

 

I live with my husband, our two cats, Opal (aka Rosemary's Baby) and Otto, and two Pygmy goats, Bowie and Eno in Durham, North Carolina. We are fortunate to live on fourteen acres of land in the middle of Duke University Forest. When I'm not working or learning, I enjoy running, biking, stand-up paddleboarding, attending music festivals, hiking, reading, writing, and watching films--new and old.
