Our four main objectives for the class were empathy, dislocation and relocation, resilience, and depth and breadth of migrant stories. To begin understanding the plight of migrants, it is important to start with our own cultural identity and our own story of migration. I am a hillbilly.
I conducted an interview with a gentleman who migrated from Burma to the United States. He discusses the "before," the "dislocation," and then the "relocation."
